Swishing is traditionally described as a clothes swapping party for women. All ladies must bring at least one item of clothing to swap, and in return can choose anything they want! See swishing’s wiki page. Not only is swishing good for your purse, it is also an ethical form of fashion that helps the environment through recycling. These days, you can also swish online via websites such as Swishing.co.uk.
Whilst non-members are free to browse and buy items from the site, as a registered user you can refresh your wardrobe by swapping clothes and accessories you never wear for items that you’ll love. Registered members can unsubscribe in My Account > Newsletter Subscription / Preferences (or follow the instructions to adjust their preferences). How do I upload an item? (plus advice on Upload versus Quick Swap) ..
Uploading items is quick and easy. After checking our Swapping Guidelines, simply fill in our Upload or Quick Swap form:
a) Upload an Item - to get the best virtual money estimate please use our Upload form - please fill in all fields and include a photo as this helps us to assess your item and give you the best possible offer.
On submission, we will try to review your Upload listing within one working day, and give you a Virtual Money Offer (usually 80% of the intended display price) - you will be able to see these offers in My Account > View Your Uploads. Once you have received and are happy with our Virtual Money Offer(s) please send your item(s) to us (please read "How and where do I send my item(s)" or refer to our Sending Guide).
b) Quick Swap - if you are in a hurry or don’t have photos you can use our Quick Swap system – just tell us the number of items you’re sending and send them to us for valuation (please read "How and where do I send my item(s)" or refer to our Sending Guide).
*NEW!* - there is now a downloadable form in the "Upload or Quick Swap" area - please print this out if possible and include it in your parcel, extra info on your items will help us make you the fastest and best possible offer. (If you don't have a printer at home, you can just include a note with the relevant details, using the Quick Swap form as a guide).
On receipt we will send you an email with our Virtual Money Offers. NB. Please note that you will not know your item’s virtual money value in advance AND that you will receive a smaller virtual money offer (typically 50% of the display price) for items sent in by Quick Swap than those which are formally uploaded with an image (Quick Swaps take us considerably longer to process, therefore the lower offer is to encourage members to upload their items with an image whenever possible). Should an item be rejected or receive an unsatisfactory offer they can be returned to you, but at your own expense.
Items only go live on the site when they have been approved, received and processed by us. This allows us to check the item, and add photos and further information if necessary. Items will show on the site once they are marked “Item Received” and have a photo image (‘received’ items showing ‘No Image’ will go live once additional photos have been taken and added by us).
In contrast to other swapping websites, all items are sent to and dispatched by us. As well as eliminating fraudsters, inaccurate listings and exaggeration, it ensures all items can be quality checked by us and held in stock for fast and efficient despatch.
Once you have received your Virtual Money Offer or notified us of a Quick Swap please send your items to the following address:

PS. Please note that pre-approved items will be deleted 30 days from their date of upload in absence in receipt - please always check your item's current status in My Account > View Your Uploads before sending.
For uploaded items, we check it matches your description and photo, and our Swapping Guidelines, and confirm the amount of credits you will receive. We may also add to or amend your listing to ensure other members have accurate information or to include additional photographs. For Quick Swap items, we assess these on receipt and email you with a Virtual Money Offer – once this has been agreed we credit your account and upload the items through our product admin interface.
Please note: if any items are disapproved on final inspection / receipt, you need to contact us if you would like them returned (this will normally be at your own cost, however we may be able to return them free of charge or for a small additional charge with an order). Please note that items will be donated or otherwise disposed of after 30 days in absence of a return request.
Once we receive and check your item(s), the status will change and your account will be awarded with the relevant amount of credits. You should receive an email notifying you of this, but if not, you can check an item's status at any time in My Account > View Your Uploads, and see your virtual money awards in My Account > Your Member Credits. Depending how long it takes to receive your items, this may take between 2-4 working days. If you don’t get notification by this time, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yes - all items are available for sale as well as swap. If you have credits, these can be used against your purchase, with any remaining amount to be settled in cash (via one of the payment methods below).
a) At Upload: the most likely reason is we think the item will be of limited interest or value to other users. It may also be that your upload lacks sufficient detail for us to be able to assess it properly, or your item does not meet our Swapping Guidelines.
b) On Receipt: the most likely reason is that is differs from the upload details you provided, or does not meet our quality controls (eg. repair and cleanliness standards) or our other Swapping Guidelines.
Swishing.co.uk retains a small virtual money margin on each item. Typically users receive 70-75% of the item's display price for uploaded items, and 45-50% for Quick Swap items, with the remainder being retained as a contingency against future display price reductions.
You can check an item’s status at any time under My Account > View Your Uploads.
NB. Please note that any items sent via Quick Swap will be uploaded to the site through our admin interface (not your own account) so will not appear in your ‘Uploads’ area. Credits awarded for Quick Swap items can be seen in My Account > Your Member Credits.
No problem, pre-approved uploads will be deleted from the system after 30 days in absence of receipt.
Delivery costs are based on the weight of your order and start from £3.95. Please note virtual money can't be used towards delivery costs. For more information on delivery click here.
This is to aid tracking and safe receipt of your parcel, and to allow us to claim a higher compensation amount in case of loss or damage in transit.
This is because our shipping provider Royal Mail only delivers to certain countries. If your country isn’t covered we’ll try to ship using an alternative provider but your order maybe subject to delays or additional charges.
You may return unsuitable items within 14 days of dispatch. If you choose to return an item, please notify us prior to sending or use the Returns Request link in My Account > View Your Order History. For more information on returns click here.
Once an item has been received and processed we are unable to return it free of charge - to repatriate your item please add it to your basket and check out in the normal way.
Virtual Money Credits are swap credits which members receive for the items they send to us for listing on the site. These credits can be used to order other items from the site. The amount awarded for each item is based on its condition and value when new.
If your item meets all of our quality criteria and Swapping Guidelines, you will receive the original virtual money offer value in credits. If we need to re-value your item we will contact you to agree a new price and virtual money offer.
Unused credits will automatically expire 12 months from the date they are awarded. Please note that there is no actual cash value for Virtual Money Credits - unused credits cannot be paid back to you in cash.
