Changes to Swap Fees & Postal Costs

Most of you will no doubt be aware that the lovely Royal Mail has raised its postage prices yet again … here at Swishing, we are determined to stick with our current P&P rates for as long as we can – regrettably, this will mean we will be forced to opt for 2nd class post for the vast majority of all our outgoing parcels (where we might have occasionally splashed out on 1st class to speed your parcels to you!), so we apologise if you find that average postal times increase.

To enable us to preserve our current postal pricing, we are introducing new swap fee price brackets for standard swap items (you will also find these detailed on our Item Pricing page) : items priced £0-£20 will remain at 50p ; £20.01-£30 will have a £1 swap fee ; £30.01-£40, £1.50 ; £40.01-£50, £2.00 and £50+ will be £2.50. Whilst this will make no difference to the majority of the items on the site, we hope you will not mind paying a tiny bit extra for our super-duper products worth £20+ …

1. Order any pair of jeans or trousers before 31st May 2012 and pay no swap fee!

2. If your item doesn’t fit, don’t despair – you can send them back to us for free (within 14 days of despatch, latest qualifying date 15th June) if you already have one of our Freepost bags – NB. just make sure to include at least 2 other uploaded and pre-approved items in your bag to qualify for a free return! (please include a note to say that the trousers are a return, and follow the usual Returns advice on the website).

Woman’s Own are looking for groups of friends (ideally in their 30s – 40s), who share money-saving tips and ideas – eg. sharing and swapping clothes, tools or other household goods; swapping vouchers, coupons and other money-saving tips; staging your own sales or other money-making activities, or sharing/swapping skills and services.

The chosen group will not only feature in the magazine, but earn themselves a group fee of £200! – you could use this for a great girly night out, a donation to a charity of your choice, or anything you like …

Just to advise that we have had a few hosting issues over the last week or so … you may have experienced some downtime (or ’security certificate invalid’ messages) when logging on or into Swishing.co.uk, or onto SwishingParties.com. Just to reassure you we are pushing our hosting providers to resolve the problems, nearly there now we think! and that the site’s security certificate IS valid and up to date – any error messages should disappear very shortly. Changes to Swap Fees and Freepost

New Swap Fee

From 15th June, a small swap fee of 50p will be payable for all standard swap items ordered from the site – the remainder of each item’s display price can still be paid for in swap credits, as before. Whilst we regret the necessity for a swap fee, we hope you will agree that it is a very minimal outlay for all the great benefits and service that the Swishing site provides. Changes to Freepost

From 1st June, we ask that our Freepost mailing bags ONLY be used for those items which have been formally uploaded, with an image and pre-approved – this gives us a fair chance to assess the items before they are sent to us at our cost. Freepost should NOT be used for items uploaded without an image, for Quick Swap items, or returns – these should be sent by customer-paid post in the normal way. The supply of bags will also be limited – members will receive one bag at first registration, and one with each order thereafter (you can obviously still send us items by normal post at any time if you don’t have a Freepost bag available).
